Cobdogla

Cobdogla Station covering over 500km of river frontage, was settled as a pastoral lease by the Chambers family in 1846. The first police greys were bred on the property and John McDouall Stuart, the explorer used "Circle C" horses for his journey across Australia from north to south.

The tongue-twister named Cobdogla is from an Aboriginal word meaning "land of plenty".

The Cobdogla Irrigation and Steam Museum houses the impressive Humphrey pump, the only working model of its kind in the world and is operational on certain days of the year.

Cobdogla is now a great family getaway, with a riverfront caravan park and museum. For keen fishermen, there is also a boat ramp at 'Bruno Bay' with some great fishing spots.

The Cobdogla and District Club, the “Cobby Club”, continues its strong community spirit and provides a family friendly environment.
